The Northern Rivers Preschool Alliance supports effective governance in Alliance member preschools by holding network meetings for directors, educational leaders and administration staff in our preschools.
The Directors Network
Director’s meetings are held once per term and allow preschool directors and managers to come together to share information and solutions, listen to guest speakers, and work collaboratively with other preschools. Directors also network through our email group and work together on joint projects such as the Preschools Open Day.
As a Preschool Director / Teacher for 15 years I have found the NRPA to be an amazing organization to support me in carrying out my role. Before the NRPA each preschool functioned as a separate institution with little support and directors had minimal access to other professionals struggling with this role. Now I always feel connected to the wealth of experience and expertise the other directors bring, helping me to comply with Departmental regulations and making my job so much easier!” ~ Pam Briggs, BA Dip Ed Dip Ed Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment. Director, Parish Centre Preschool Lismore
Educational Leaders Network
The role of Educational Leader is valued by the Northern Rivers Preschools Alliance. As such, we have created an opportunity for the educational leaders to meet in a safe and nurturing forum. Here we share our unique stories, our highs and our lows and we problem solve. Our educational leader meetings are necessary for connection, for understanding and for improving and sharing our skills and knowledge. We are a community of practice and our practice is quality early childhood education and care.
Our preschool has been a member of the Northern Rivers Preschool Alliance for a number of years. As an Educational Leader this has meant that I have regular access to professional learning opportunities, sector related resources and most significantly a network of colleagues that understand the complexities of this role. Collectively, the alliance has established a voice that advocates for early childhood education, providing a platform from which early childhood teachers can build on their own pedagogy and practice”. ~ Melissa Leeson, Educational Leader, St Mary’s Community Preschool.
Administrators Network
Each term we also hold Administration meetings for our administration officers, clerical assistants and office managers. These give our administration staff invaluable support and opportunities for collaboration, allowing our preschools to run as efficiently as possible while also ensuring the wellbeing of our staff.
Advocacy Group
The Advocacy group is made up of members of the Northern Rivers Preschool Alliance, who consider changes to funding and government policy and develop the Alliance’s response to these. The Advocacy group communicates with our local MPs, Department of Education staff and Ministers, and our peak bodies in order to advocate for children, families and staff in Northern Rivers Preschools.
